Erica Kemp, Mariana Silverman and Keilani Waxdeck Injured in Fatal Car Accident on Highway 166 in Santa Maria

2 Killed, 3 Injured in Santa Maria Crash on Highway 166 near Rock Front Ranch

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (April 6, 2019) – Three people were injured, two seriously, after a fatal two-car crash Saturday afternoon in Santa Maria.
 
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m., along Highway 166. Dispatchers arrived to the area near the Rock Front Ranch soon after.
 
The injured victims have been identified as a 20-year-old Erica Kemp, a 21-year-old Mariana Silverman, and a 20-year-old Keilani Waxdeck. All three are San Luis Obispo residents.
 
CHP officials also said that Kemp was driving a Nissan Sentra with Silverman and Waxdeck as passengers on Highway 166. There, they were struck by a westbound Honda Accord.
 
The Accord reportedly crossed over the center line before consequently colliding with the Nissan for unknown reasons. The damaged vehicles were located upon officers arrival. Paramedics were quickly called to the scene due to needed medical assistance.
 
Silverman and Waxdeck was seriously injured in the crash, while Kemp sustained minor injuries. Waxdeck was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital due to the extent of her injuries. Meanwhile, Kemp and Silverman were taken by ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center.
 
Furthermore, the driver of the Accord driver, a 29-year-old Caliente man, and his passenger, a 29-year-old Caliente woman, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The names of the deceased were not immediately available pending notification of their family members.
 
Investigation of this fatal crash is still currently ongoing. More details will eventually be released once available.
