Neto Alonso Monterroza Struck and Killed in Victorville Pedestrian Accident

VICTORVILLE, CA (February 2, 2026) – Saturday night, Ernesto Alonso Monterroza, 42, died in a devastating pedestrian crash on 17000 Hook Boulevard.

The incident occurred at around 6:49 p.m. in the 17000 block of Hook Boulevard, just across High Desert Church and Hook Park.

Preliminary reports say the pedestrian was walking from the direction of High Desert Church when he was struck by a white 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan.

The minivan remained at the scene, and the female driver cooperated with deputies. The vehicle sustained visible damage to the front passenger side above the wheel and on the hood. Several witnesses stopped to render first aid to the pedestrian.

Victorville City Fire Department and other emergency responders arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. His body was found partially on the sidewalk near the parking lot entrance to Hook Park.

Westbound lanes of Hook Boulevard were initially closed, with Victorville City Public Works assisting in setting up a hard closure. The road was later shut down in both directions between Arlette Drive and Ashley Glenn Drive for the duration of the investigation.
