Ernesto Mendoza Beltran Arrested in Alarming Police Chase Crash on West Third Street [Santa Rosa, CA]

1 in Custody in Santa Rosa Auto Accident on West Third Street and Dutton Avenue

SANTA ROSA, CA (May 9, 2023) – Saturday night, authorities arrested Ernesto Mendoza Beltran following an alarming police chase crash on West Third Street.

The incident started at around 10:30 p.m. when authorities attempted to pull over a speeding Honda along West Third Street near Dutton Avenue. Then, the Honda initially pulled over to parking. However, it later fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

According to Santa Rosa police Lt. Chris Mahurin, the Honda driver attempted to go around a westbound brown Toyota pickup truck on Surrey Drive and crashed into the vehicle. Then, the Honda continued driving westbound and struck a parked Volkswagen near Amador Drive. The force of the crash pushed the Honda eastbound and collided with a parked BMW SUV before rolling over to its roof.

Moreover, authorities arrested the Honda driver who smelled of alcohol. Then, responders transported Beltran to a local hospital with complaints of pain.

Furthermore, authorities confirmed that Beltran managed to post a $25,000 bail and was released on Sunday.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
