San Tan Valley Hit-and-Run Leaves 11-Year-Old on Ventilator
San Tan Valley, AZ (August 15, 2026) — 11-year-old Ethan Turner suffered severe injuries after a suspected hit-and-run crash while riding his push scooter in a San Tan Valley neighborhood Monday evening.
Authorities said a truck struck Ethan Turner as he crossed the street and continued driving without stopping. Emergency crews took him to Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, where doctors placed him on a ventilator.
Ethan suffered a concussion, a broken femur, and lung damage. He later developed pneumonia and may require additional surgeries as he begins what doctors expect to be a lengthy recovery.
The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office used license plate camera footage to identify and arrest 46-year-old Glenn Noordhof. Authorities booked him on suspicion of leaving the scene of an injury crash.
Ethan’s family continues to remain by his side as he faces a difficult recovery. Friends have also organized a fundraiser to help with his medical expenses.
Do The Right Thing. Stay. Help. Take Responsibility.
A hit-and-run is not just a crime but a devastating act of cowardice, leaving victims injured, scared, and sometimes fighting for their lives. If you’re involved in a traffic accident, stop immediately. Call 911. Help those who are hurt.
Remember that fleeing the scene only worsens the situation and carries serious legal consequences, including felony charges. Victims deserve accountability and justice.
Drivers must stay alert, especially in residential neighborhoods where children may be riding scooters or bicycles. If you are involved in a crash, stop, call for emergency assistance and remain at the scene.
