Odessa Woman Dies After Loose Wheel Causes Ward County Crash
Ward County, TX (August 13, 2026) — Eva Luevano, a woman from Odessa, died after a detached wheel struck her vehicle on Interstate 20 in Ward County.
According to authorities, 21-year-old Braulio Franco Armendriz was driving a 2003 Chevrolet 3500 westbound around 6:10 p.m. when a mechanical failure caused the truck’s front-left tire and wheel assembly to separate.

How a Wrongful Death Claim Can Help Families
The sudden loss of a loved one in a fatal traffic collision brings not only emotional pain but also unexpected financial challenges. Funeral expenses, medical bills, and lost income can quickly become overwhelming. A wrongful death claim can provide vital legal and financial support while holding the responsible party accountable.
Filing a wrongful death claim can help families recover compensation for:
- Funeral and burial costs
- Medical expenses related to the deceased’s final care
- Lost wages and future financial support
- Emotional suffering and loss of companionship
Whether the accident was caused by distracted driving, impaired driving, speeding, or a defective vehicle, pursuing legal action ensures the at-fault party is held responsible. This process not only seeks justice for your loved one but can also raise awareness about dangerous behaviors that may prevent similar tragedies in the future.
While no amount of money can replace a loved one, a wrongful death claim can provide families with a sense of closure, knowing that accountability has been sought and justice pursued.
