Evan Fields Arrested in Fatal Crash on Highway 83 [El Paso County, CO]

El Paso County, CO (August 7, 2026) — Evan Fields faces multiple charges after a two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 28-year-old Denver woman in El Paso County.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened around 9:25 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 83 and Shoup Road.

Investigators said a gray Subaru WRX, driven by 38-year-old Evan R. Fields of Fountain, was traveling southbound when it attempted to turn left onto Shoup Road and crossed into the path of an oncoming Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The Subaru struck the motorcycle, ejecting both riders. The 28-year-old female passenger died from her injuries. The motorcycle’s 27-year-old male rider, also from Denver, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Fields, who was not injured, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and additional pending charges. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail as the Colorado State Patrol continues its investigation. The El Paso County Coroner will release the identity of the deceased woman.
