Pueblo County, CO (March 16, 2026) – 48-year-old Evans Downie of Howard lost his life following a Lake Pueblo boat accident Friday.

Investigators said a 14-foot fishing boat overturned due to high winds sending two people on board onto the water.

Another boat picked one of the boaters 100 yards away, while the other boater, Downie, was taken out of the water 9 hours later.

Officers are investigating Downie’s cause of death.
