Family Injured in Highway 116 DUI Crash [Cotati, CA]

Cotati, CA (December 27, 2024) –  A family was injured in a Highway 116 DUI crash Monday.

The two-vehicle hit-and-run collision happened on Highway 101 on-ramp. 

Responding officers located a car with damage to its front and a male was next to it. Officers said the man caused the collision and fled afterward.

Afterward, the authorities located another car on its side and freed its passengers.  The family inside the vehicle was transported to a hospital. Several children were trapped inside the vehicle.

Witnesses remained at the scene and helped the family that was trapped in the car.

Moreover, officers said the suspect driver was determined to have a blood alcohol content of 3.5 times the legal limit. They arrested him for DUI and felony hit-and-run.
