2 People Dead in Robstown Auto Accident on County Road 36 and County Road 77

ROBSTOWN, TX (January 27, 2026) – Thursday night, Randy Rubio and a child were killed in a fatal 2-vehicle crash on County Road 36 and County Road 77.

The incident happened at around 9:44 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 77 and County Road 36.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a westbound 2019 Ford Ranger failed to stop at a posted stop sign and struck a southbound 2005 Buick Rendezvous.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the Buick, identified as 35-year-old Randy Rubio, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported two children, ages 12 and 5, who were passengers of the Buick, to Driscoll Children’s Hospital with critical injuries.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that a third child, a 4-year-old, was transported to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital, then to Driscoll Children’s Hospital, where the patient was later pronounced dead.

Also, officers arrested the driver of the Ford, identified as Joshua Galvan, for three counts of manslaughter.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the DPS continued to investigate the crash.
