1 Person Dead in Burlington Auto Accident on Highway 385 and Kit Carson County Road

BURLINGTON, CO (November 6, 2025) – Wednesday morning, a fatal 2-vehicle crash on Highway 385 and Kit Carson County Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 11:40 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 385 and Kit Carson County Road.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, a northbound Jeep rear-ended a Ford Focus that was stopped at the intersection. Then, the force of the crash pushed both vehicles into a field.

Moreover, responders pronounced a 17-year-old passenger of the Ford dead at the scene. Then, paramedics airlifted two other passengers of the Ford, ages 17 and 18, to an area hospital with critical and serious injuries. Also, officers confirmed that two more passengers of the Ford sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that the 32-year-old driver of the Jeep sustained minor to moderate injuries in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Colorado State Patrol continued investigating the crash.
