MADERA COUNTY, CA (August 27, 2025) – Sunday night, a fatal bicycle crash on Cobb Ranch Boulevard near Avenue 9 killed one person.

The incident happened at around 10:33 p.m. on Cobb Ranch Boulevard, north of Avenue 9.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a southbound blue Lincoln Navigator struck an unhoused person who was riding his bicycle southbound.

Moreover, responders rushed the 39-year-old male bicyclist to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, the 31-year-old driver of the Navigator remained at the scene and was not suspected of impairment.

Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that the bicyclist was wearing dark clothing and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
