California Highway Patrol officers responded around 12:44 a.m. to the northbound lanes near Gene Autry Way after a vehicle struck a pedestrian who was standing in the roadway.

Emergency personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
