Fatal Crash on Highway 83 Under Investigation

One Dead, Two Injured in Crash at Highway 83 and Powers Boulevard

Colorado Springs, CO (August 9, 2026) — A shocking crash on Highway 83 near North Powers Boulevard in Colorado Springs left one person dead and two others injured Thursday.

Colorado Springs police said a Ford F-350 towing a dump trailer was traveling east on Highway 83 when another vehicle turned left toward Powers Boulevard and crossed into its path. The truck struck the passenger side of the turning vehicle.
