Fatal Head-On Collision on Highway 121 Injures 3 [Napa, CA]

Napa, CA (June 08, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision on Highway 121 left a man dead and 3 people hurt.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the frightening crash happened on California Highway 121 near Highway 37 at around 4:38 p.m.

Reports say that the head-on collision killed one man and left a mother and her two children with major injuries Friday afternoon.

Authorities say that a man driving a 2024 Toyota Venza southbound crossed over the double-yellow lines and crashed into a northbound 2011 Lexus RX450 near Sonoma Raceway. The Lexus was driven by a woman traveling with her 15-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter.

The Toyota caught fire after the collision. Authorities transported the Toyota driver to a Napa hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:36 p.m.

Emergency responders rushed the Lexus driver to a local hospital, while helicopters transported both children to Oakland Children’s Hospital. CHP noted that only one of the children had been wearing a seatbelt.

Officials continue to investigate the cause of the crash and have not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
