MONTGOMERY, TX (April 6, 2026) – Saturday afternoon, a fatal head-on crash on State Highway 99 near Community killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. on State Highway 99 near Community.

According to reports, a southbound 2008 Chrysler Pacifica lost control, veered into the northbound lanes, and collided with a 2008 GMC Sierra.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 35-year-old male driver of the Sierra dead at the scene. Then, paramedics rushed the 61-year-old female driver of the Pacifica to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers believe that the wet conditions of the road played a role in the crash.
