1 Person Dead in Collin County Auto Accident on Virginia Parkway and Independence Parkway

COLLIN COUNTY, TX (May 3, 2026) – Saturday morning, a fatal high-speed crash on Virginia Parkway and Independence Parkway killed one person.

The incident happened at around 4:00 a.m. on Virginia Parkway and Independence Parkway.

According to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle that fled a DWI traffic stop led authorities on a high‑speed pursuit while traveling the wrong way. Then, the vehicle crashed and erupted into flames.

Moreover, responders pronounced a juvenile passenger of the vehicle dead at the scene. Then, officers said that the juvenile driver of the vehicle was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers said that the vehicle was reported stolen before the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Collin County Sheriff’s Office continued investigating the crash.
