1 Person Dead in Bexar County Pedestrian Accident on US Highway 181 near Adkins-Elmendorf Road

BEXAR COUNTY, TX (August 17, 2025) – Friday night, a fatal hit-and-run crash on US Highway 181 near Adkins-Elmendorf Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 9:00 p.m. on the southbound US Highway 181 near Adkins-Elmendorf Road.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, a red Jeep Wrangler struck a pedestrian, then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders rushed the victim to a hospital, where the patient was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers said that the hit-and-run vehicle is best described as a 2007-2017 model that is missing the black fender on that side.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
