1 Person Dead in Santa Maria Pedestrian Accident on 700 West Main Street

SANTA MARIA, CA (March 20, 2025) – Tuesday morning, a fatal pedestrian crash on 700 West Main Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 5:00 a.m. on the 700 block of West Main Street.

According to Lt Daniel Rios, an eastbound vehicle struck two pedestrians who were crossing the roadway outside a marked crosswalk.

Moreover, responders rushed the two male victims, ages 22 and 23, to Marian Regional Medical Center where the 23-year-old was later pronounced dead. Authorities said that the 22-year-old remained in critical condition.

Furthermore, the female driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was not suspected of impairment.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
