MODESTO, CA (June 10, 2026) – Tuesday morning, officers arrested Zachariah James Knobel after a fatal police chase crash on Robin Hood Drive and Tuxford Lane.

The incident started at around 1:20 a.m. when CHP started a pursuit of a car travelling at a high rate of speed.

According to reports, the suspect vehicle attempted to turn right from Robin Hood Drive onto Tuxford Lane, veered off the roadway, and crashed into a home before erupting into flames.

Moreover, officers confirmed that a resident of the house died in the crash.

Furthermore, authorities arrested the driver of the vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Zachariah James Knobel, for DUI, second-degree murder, and vehicular manslaughter.
