Injuries Reported in San Diego Auto Accident near Genesee Avenue and Caminito Katerina

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 11, 2026) – Monday night, a fiery police chase crash near Genesee Avenue and Caminito Katerina sent two people to the hospital.

The incident happened when a driver failed to yield to police at about 5:54 p.m. on 7700 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, leading to a chase, said San Diego Police Department Officer John Buttle.

Police said the driver crashed during a pursuit near Genesee Avenue and Caminito Katerina, ejecting a passenger from the vehicle. The passenger was taken to a hospital, and no update on their condition was available.

Authorities said the driver continued fleeing and crashed again near Mesa College Drive and Ashford Street. The driver exited the smoking vehicle shortly before it caught fire and was also taken to a hospital.
