TUCSON, AZ (June 30, 2026) – Monday, a person sustained injuries in a fiery vehicle crash on Interstate 10 westbound and Alvernon Way.

The incident happened on Interstate 10 westbound and Alvernon Way.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a collision between a Chevrolet Equinox and a semi-truck caused the SUV to catch fire.

Authorities said everyone involved was able to safely escape the vehicles. One person was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not immediately disclosed.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said the westbound lanes at Alvernon Way were closed for several hours following the crash before reopening early on June 29.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
