Police Investigate Five-Vehicle Crash in Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD, CA (December 25, 2025) — A major traffic disruption occurred early Saturday morning after a five-vehicle crash — including a semi-trailer carrying multiple cars — unfolded on the southbound 101 Freeway near Hollywood Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Central LA Division, the collision was reported at approximately 5:45 a.m.
Authorities say the semi-truck, which was transporting vehicles, became involved in a multi-car pileup under still-undetermined circumstances.
Several of the vehicles being transported sustained minor damage during the incident.
While emergency crews responded quickly, the situation was further complicated by a hazardous fuel leak from the semi-trailer.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) requested a hazardous materials (hazmat) team to address the fuel spill and mitigate environmental and roadway risks.
Fortunately, no major injuries were reported. However, the cleanup and investigation forced the closure of multiple lanes during peak morning hours, leaving only one lane open to traffic.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area or expect significant delays while the scene remained active.
