Police Investigate Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash on Highway 285 Near Roswell

Chaves County, NM (February 7, 2026) – Four people suffered severe injuries Saturday after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 285 South near Roswell, according to the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene south of Roswell, near Shawnee Road, where they discovered a vehicle that had rolled over multiple times. 

Due to the seriousness of the injuries, deputies requested additional medical and fire personnel, along with a medical helicopter, to assist with emergency transport to a hospital.

Authorities urged drivers to avoid the area while crews worked to secure the scene and provide emergency care. 

Officials have not yet released further details regarding what caused the crash. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
