Los Angeles, CA (August 7, 2025) – Authorities identified the man killed in a wrong-way hit-and-run crash in West Los Angeles as 60-year-old Francis Shim.

According to authorities, the incident happened around 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, in the northbound lanes of Bundy Drive, just south of Pico Boulevard.

Reports say that a southbound vehicle struck Shim as he stood near the curb in the 2400 block of South Bundy Drive. Emergency crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that Shim died from multiple blunt force injuries.

The driver fled the scene, and authorities have not released a description of the vehicle or the suspect. The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division continues to investigate the fatal crash.
