Francisco Gerardo Sustaita Arrested in Alarming Multi-Vehicle Crash on West Vista Way [Vista, CA]

Lanes Blocked in Vista Multi-Vehicle Accident on West Vista Way and North Emerald Drive

VISTA, CA (August 28, 2025) – Wednesday afternoon, Francisco Gerardo Sustaita was arrested after an alarming multi-vehicle crash on West Vista Way.

The incident started at around 2:50 p.m. at the 1700 block of West Vista Way when a Toyota Tundra deliberately rammed another vehicle in a Starbucks drive-thru, then fled the scene.

According to reports, the driver of the Tundra, Sustaita, collided with another vehicle at the intersection of West Vista Way and North Emerald Drive and fled from that scene again. Then, the suspect vehicle that was being pursued by authorities intentionally crashed into multiple vehicles before it was disabled near Valencia Drive.

Moreover, officers confirmed that multiple victims in the crash sustained minor injuries.

Furthermore, officers managed to arrest the suspect who fled the scene after the last crash. Officers said that the Sustaita is facing multiple felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office continued investigating the crash.
