Pima County, AZ (February 27, 2026) – 34-year-old Francisco Pelayo was arrested following a Palo Verde Road collision Thursday.

The traffic collision happened north of Irvington Road.

Officers said the pedestrian incurred life-threatening injuries and is fighting for their life.

Troopers arrested Pelayo on DUI and aggravated assault charges. He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
