Francois Primeau Dies in Horrific Crash on Standard Avenue

Irvine Bicyclist Killed in Santa Ana Hit-and-Run Crash

Santa Ana, CA (June 21, 2025) — 60-year-old Francois Primeau of Irvine lost his life after a hit-and-run collision on Standard Avenue involving a bicyclist on Friday evening.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of Standard Avenue and Warner Avenue at approximately 6:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle.

Responders found Primeau in the roadway with critical injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that Primeau was riding his bicycle through the intersection when a westbound vehicle struck him. The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision.

The Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate the fatal hit-and-run and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
