23-Year-Old Woman Dies After Moped Crash at Carter Drive and Sunflower Drive in Arlington

Arlington, TX (March 14, 2026) — On Thursday morning, a 23-year-old woman lost her life following a crash on Carter Drive involving a moped and a car.

Police responded around 8:36 a.m. to the intersection of Carter Drive and Sunflower Drive after receiving reports that a person had been struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the young woman trapped beneath a car.

Investigators determined that the victim was traveling northbound on Carter Drive while riding a 2026 Yamaha Vino moped. At the same time, a 2014 Nissan Sentra attempted to turn onto Carter Drive from an alleyway and entered her path.

Authorities said the woman tried to avoid the collision by laying the moped on its side. She fell to the roadway during the maneuver and was then run over by the vehicle.

Emergency responders transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Officials confirmed that she was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police have not filed criminal charges as the investigation continues. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after notifying her family.
