Frightening Crash on Cedar Road Results in Tragedy

15-Year-Old Killed, Another Teen Critically Injured in Santa Fe County Crash

Santa Fe County, NM (March 12, 2026) — A 15-year-old boy lost his life Saturday evening following a crash on Cedar Road in the San Marcos area south of Santa Fe.

Deputies from the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported collision near the intersection with Southfork Road, just off New Mexico State Road 14.

When authorities arrived, they found two teenage boys who had been ejected from a vehicle during the crash. The 15-year-old victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency crews rushed a 16-year-old boy to a hospital with critical injuries, where he remains under medical care.

Officials continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision.
