Suspected DUI Driver Crashes SUV Into Long Beach Home, Injuring Three
Long Beach, CA (June 25, 2025) — A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash on East Bort Street, where an SUV crashed into a home in Long Beach on Tuesday afternoon, leaving three people injured.
The collision happened around 1:50 p.m. near East Bort Street and Long Beach Boulevard, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Investigators said the SUV slammed into the front of a residence, causing debris to strike two women who were inside the house at the time. Both women suffered injuries and were transported to a hospital. The driver was also hospitalized. Authorities reported that all three sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The homeowner was not present during the crash and later stated that the property was being rented.
Images from the scene showed the SUV lodged partially inside the home before crews removed the vehicle later that day.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Let’s Avoid Traffic Accidents
Avoiding auto accidents involves paying attention and practicing safe driving methods. And as always, you should follow the speed and traffic laws, and don’t text (or use your phone in any way) behind the wheel.
Keep a safe trailing distance to be able to stop, if necessary.
Do not drink and drive, and never get behind the wheel if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you are tired.
Watch your mirrors and use your turn signals, and check your blind spots, before changing lanes or making a turn. Drive calmly and patiently, especially in heavy traffic or bad weather.
When you drive responsibly and remain alert, you help prevent accidents and keep everyone on the road safe.
Driving under the influence can endanger not only those on the road but also people inside their homes and businesses. Motorists should always drive sober and remain attentive behind the wheel to help prevent serious and avoidable collisions.
