Climax Springs Passenger Seriously Injured After Benton County Crash
Benton County, MO (May 8, 2025) — On Wednesday evening, a 31-year-old man from Climax Springs suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Hastain Avenue in Benton County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8:15 p.m. on Hastain Avenue south of Mulholland Road. Investigators said the driver of a 1997 GMC lost control of the vehicle before it crashed into a tree.
The injured passenger was airlifted to University Hospital for treatment. Authorities identified the driver as a 47-year-old man from Trout Springs, Montana, who was not injured in the collision.
Troopers reported that the injured passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
When we’re behind the wheel, we’re not just driving for ourselves—we’re part of a larger community that shares the road. That’s why it’s so important to drive responsibly, stay alert, and respect the rights of others. Safe driving doesn’t just protect you; it protects your family, neighbors, and even strangers traveling alongside you.
Together, we can reduce the number of traffic collisions and create safer roads for everyone. Let’s commit to driving with care, staying focused, and taking responsibility for our actions.
And remember: seatbelts save lives. Whether you’re the driver or a passenger, buckling up is one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent serious injury in a crash.
Wearing a seatbelt can significantly reduce the risk of serious injuries during a crash. Drivers and passengers should always buckle up before traveling, even on short trips or rural roads.
