Frightening Crash on Highway 67 Claims a Man’s Life [Butler County, MO]

Butler County, MO (February 11, 2026) — On Sunday evening, a fatal crash on Highway 67 involving a moped and several vehicles claimed the life of a Poplar Bluff man.

According to authorities, the collision occurred around 6:40 p.m. along U.S. 67, about two miles south of Poplar Bluff.

Reports say that a 40-year-old man was riding a moped southbound when a pickup truck struck him from behind. The impact threw the rider from the moped, and multiple vehicles then hit him.

After the initial collision, the pickup, a semi-truck, and an SUV struck the rider. A separate car later rear-ended the SUV. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but the moped driver died at the scene.

Two drivers, a 21-year-old woman from Jonesboro, Arkansas, and a 48-year-old woman from Poplar Bluff, suffered minor injuries and went to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities reported no injuries for the pickup driver, a 45-year-old man from Harviell, or the semi-truck driver, a 60-year-old man from Monticello, Indiana.

State troopers noted this marked the fourth traffic-related fatality in Troop E in 2026.
