Sarita, TX (February 14, 2026) — Authorities responded to a crash on Highway 77 in the Sarita area on Wednesday evening that left a person hospitalized.

According to the Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 77 north of the Sarita Checkpoint.

Emergency crews spent more than an hour extricating one individual from a vehicle. All involved parties were transported by EMS to a nearby hospital, though their conditions have not been released.

Willacy County EMS handled medical care, while Kenedy County Fire assisted with vehicle extrication at both crash scenes. Additional support came from U.S. Border Patrol, DPS, and the Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office.
