Trooper Injured After Rear-End Crash on I-90 Near Easton

Kittitas County, WA (December 24, 2025) — An overnight crash on Interstate 90 near Easton left a Washington State Patrol trooper injured after a vehicle struck a patrol SUV from behind in Kittitas County.

According to authorities, the collision happened in the westbound lanes of I-90 near the Pine Glen area, several miles east of Easton.

Authorities said a fully marked WSP SUV was stopped in a travel lane with emergency lights activated when an 86-year-old Easton man crashed into the rear of the vehicle.

One trooper suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. A second trooper was not inside the patrol SUV at the time of the crash. The driver who caused the collision was not hurt.

The incident marked the second recent crash involving a Washington State Patrol vehicle. Earlier in the week, a WSP sergeant was injured in a head-on collision in Lakewood after a pickup truck struck a patrol SUV. That sergeant was hospitalized and later expected to recover.
