Two Women Killed in Fiery Crash on Route C in Cole County

Cole County, TX (August 3, 2025) – A deadly crash on Route C early Saturday morning claimed the lives of two Jefferson City women after their vehicle veered off the road and burst into flames.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:20 a.m. near Zion Road. A 37-year-old woman was driving a 2008 Ford Focus westbound when the vehicle left the roadway, slammed into a tree, and caught fire.

Both the driver and her 38-year-old passenger died at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fatal collision.
