Tragic G Street Pedestrian Crash Kills Josephine Fluetsch [Merced, CA]

Merced, CA (November 10, 2023) On Tuesday evening, 67-year-old Josephine Fluetsch died after a pedestrian crash on G Street.

According to Merced Police Department, the fatal traffic crash happened around 7:58 p.m. on G Street between 25th and 26th streets.

Reports say that a northbound 2016 Toyota Camry, driven by a 23-year-old Merced man, fatally struck Fluetsch who was attempting to cross the street.

Police pronounced Fluetsch dead at the scene, while the driver stayed at the scene and attempted to alert other motorists of Fluetsch in the roadway. However, officials say that 2 other vehicles may have struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.

Authorities are investigating the fatal traffic crash and have not released further details at this time.
