Gabriel Bixby Killed in Horrific Traffic Accident on SH 276 [Hunt County, TX]

Hunt County, TX (January 9, 2025) On Tuesday, Dallas police officer 29-year-old Gabriel Bixby was killed in a horrific traffic accident on SH 276.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the fatal incident happened in Hunt County.

Reports say that the off-duty Dallas police officer lost his life in the motorcycle accident on Tuesday.

Authorities say that Bixby was traveling west on SH 276 on his Harley Davidson motorcycle when an eastbound Honda Accord, driven by 85-year-old Frank James, attempted to turn left into a private driveway. James failed to yield the right of way, leading to a collision.

The Dallas Police Department confirmed that Bixby had served with the agency since 2018 and was assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
