2 Transported to Hospitals Following Bates County Vehicle Crash
Bates County, MO (February 18, 2026) – The authorities arrested 52-year-old Gabriel Ryan of Warsaw following a traffic collision on County Road NW 2 Monday night.
The vehicle collision happened past 7 p.m. at Ramp 988821.
MSHP officers said a pickup truck driven by Ryan swerved to avoid a collision but struck a pickup truck driven by a 37-year-old Butler woman.
Ryan’s vehicle then hit a guardrail and his vehicle rested
The Butler woman, and her passenger, a 38-year-old Butler man, were seriously injured and was transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital and Research Medical Center.
Moreover, Ryan incurred minor injuries. The authorities cited him for driving while revoked and leaving the scene of an accident.
Traffic collisions can occur in the blink of an eye, but so many are preventable with small, intelligent decisions. Pay attention, don’t get distracted (say, by texting) and never drive after drinking. As ever – obey speed limits, buckle up and keep plenty of room between yourself and other vehicles. These are small enough measures to save lives — including your own.
We can all take steps to help keep our roads safe for ourselves, our families and our communities.
Sweet Lawyers urges drivers to slow down and stay alert during wet road conditions, especially at busy intersections, to help reduce the risk of serious crashes.
Life After a Traffic Accident
The truth is, a crash doesn’t end when the wreckage is cleared away. For many, it’s just the beginning of a long and difficult road to recovery. Injuries can range from minor bruises to life-changing trauma, and the emotional toll can be just as heavy — stress, anxiety, or even the fear of driving again. Add medical bills, lost wages, and other financial worries, and it can all feel overwhelming.
If you’ve been in an accident, knowing your rights matters. You deserve to focus on your healing — not the paperwork and legal headaches. That’s where Sweet Lawyers comes in. Our team is here to handle the tough parts so you can focus on getting better and rebuilding your life.
