Reportedly, a two-vehicle crash in west Phoenix on Monday afternoon claimed the life of a 36-year-old man, authorities reported.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the collision occurred around 3:20 p.m. near 51st Avenue and Indian School Road.

Investigators identified the victim as Gary Johnson. They stated that Johnson was traveling northbound on 51st Avenue when another driver, heading southbound, attempted a left turn and collided with Johnson’s vehicle.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but Johnson was pronounced dead on-site.
