Paso Robles Man Killed After Truck Rear-Ends Car at Red Light on Highway 46

San Luis Obispo County, CA (December 5, 2025) — A 63-year-old Paso Robles man died early Thursday after a deadly rear-end crash on Highway 46 that led to the arrest of 25-year-old Gean Marco HuamanCastro of Bakersfield.

According to the Paso Robles Police Department, the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of westbound Highway 46 East and Golden Hill Road.

Police say the Lexus driver was stopped at the red light when a westbound Freightliner box truck failed to slow down and slammed into the back of his car.

The impact killed the Lexus driver. Officers arrested the truck driver, HuamanCastro, on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. He was taken to the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
