Police Arrest Genaro Rubio Barron in Thornton Parkway Deadly Crash [Thornton, CO]

Thornton, CO (September 19, 2026) – The authorities arrested Genaro Rubio Barron, 38, in a Thornton Parkway deadly crash Saturday.

The deadly crash happened before 8 p.m. on September 11 on Huron Street.

According to the authorities, a northbound pickup truck on Huron Street turned left onto westbound Thornton Parkway in front of a motorcycle.

As a result, the pickup truck collided with a motorcyclist that was southbound on Huron Street.

Rescuers rushed the seriously injured motorcyclist to a hospital, where they died on September 14. 

The truck driver, Genaro Rubio Barron, 38, on the other hand, fled the crash scene, but turned himself in on September 12.

Police found the involved pickup truck and confirmed it has damage consistent with the collision.

The authorities then arrested Barron on suspicion of careless driving causing serious bodily injury, leaving the scene of a crash causing serious bodily injury and driving without a driver’s license. 

The accident report stated that his initial bond was $5,000 surety or $500 cash, which was reduced to $1,000 surety or $100 cash after his arraignment.

Moreover, following the motorcyclist’s death, charges on Barron were amended to careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
