George Mendez of Raymondville Arrested in Frontage Road Disastrous Crash [Willacy County, TX]

Willacy County, TX (May 17, 2024) On Thursday morning, George Mendez of Raymondville was arrested after causing a disastrous crash on northbound Frontage Road.

According to the Willacy County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), the vehicle crash happened at about 10 a.m. on northbound Frontage Road, north of Mulberry Road.

Reports say that a gray minivan crashed into the Silver Dollar Game Room located on northbound Frontage. Officials say that authorities were chasing the minivan before the crash.

Authorities say that the building was occupied at the time of the crash and injuries were reported. Medics transported a woman to a hospital, the patient suffered a back injury.

Officials arrested Mendez on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of criminal mischief.

Deputies are investigating the vehicle crash.
