Midland Woman Killed in DWI Crash on North Midland Drive; Driver Arrested

Midland, TX (August 17, 2025) – Authorities arrested 40-year-old Gilbert Perez after a 32-year-old Midland woman died early Saturday morning in a horrific crash on North Midland Drive.

According to Midland Police, the fatal incident happened around 12:44 a.m. in the 3200 block of North Midland Drive.

Reports say that the woman was stopped at a red light in a black Jeep Wrangler when a white Ford F-250 slammed into the back of her vehicle.

The woman died at the scene. Police identified the driver of the Ford as Perez, who was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter, a second-degree felony.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash.
