Gina Ganaway Dies in Shocking Collision on FM 1585 [Lubbock County, TX]

Lubbock County, TX (June 12, 2025) — 49-year-old Gina Ganaway and 49-year-old Joseph Ellis were killed in a head-on collision on FM 1585 in Lubbock County on Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to the crash at about 11:34 a.m. at the intersection of FM 1585 and County Road 1100. Investigators determined that an SUV traveling eastbound on FM 1585 crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with an approaching pickup truck.

The SUV driver, Ellis, and his passenger, Ganaway, died at the scene.

A 6-year-old boy who was riding in the SUV suffered serious injuries and was transported to UMC for treatment. The pickup driver sustained minor injuries.

Officials continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
