Harris County, TX (August 7, 2025) – A 22-year-old Gloria Guevera died, and a 16-year-old sustained serious injuries in a crash on Tidwell at CE King Parkway.

A man rear-ended a pregnant woman’s car in northeast Harris County on Thursday evening, pushed it into oncoming traffic, and then fled the scene, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. 

The crash killed the expectant mother and led to the suspect’s arrest.

Deputies reported that the collision occurred just after 8:30 p.m. in the 12300 block of Tidwell at CE King Parkway. 

They said a woman in her 20s, later identified as 22-year-old Gloria Guevera, was driving a red Mustang when a truck slammed into the back of her car. 

The impact sent her into oncoming traffic, where she collided head-on with another truck hauling a trailer. Guevera died at the scene, and investigators later learned she was two to three months pregnant.

A 16-year-old passenger in the Mustang suffered serious injuries, and paramedics rushed the teen to the hospital, where they remained hospitalized Friday.

Investigators searched for the white truck involved in the initial rear-end collision and released a photo of it Friday afternoon.

That evening, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced that deputies had arrested 60-year-old Jose Sanchez Olivarez. 

Authorities charged him with two counts of failure to stop and render aid, booked him into the Harris County Jail, and recovered the truck he allegedly drove.
