Gloria Vasquez Dies in Horrific Hit-and-Run Crash on Haddon Avenue [Pacoima, CA]

Pacoima, CA (August 6, 2025) – Authorities have identified 76-year-old Gloria Vasquez as the woman who died after a hit-and-run crash on Haddon Avenue.

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened at around 8:10 p.m. Vasquez was walking with her dog near Osborne Street and Haddon Avenue, outside a marked crosswalk, when a westbound vehicle hit them.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced Vasquez dead at the scene. Her dog, severely injured in the crash, later died as well.

The driver fled without offering aid. Police quickly identified 31-year-old Ever Marquez of Pacoima as the suspect and arrested him the following day. He now faces charges of felony hit-and-run causing death and is being held on $30,000 bail.

Authorities closed Osborne Street between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Haddon Avenue to investigate the incident. LAPD officials reminded the public that drivers involved in a crash must stop, call for help, and remain at the scene. They also advised pedestrians to use crosswalks for their safety.
