Gold Run Road Off-Road Crash Kills 17-Year-Old John Fiedelman [Breckenridge, CO]

Breckenridge, CO (November 19, 2025) — 3 teens were hurt while a 17-year-old driver, identified as John Fiedelman, a Summit High School student was killed in a frightening crash on Gold Run Road

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened around 5:10 p.m. just outside Breckenridge.

Reports say that Fiedelman was driving a Jeep Wrangler westbound on Gold Run Road and attempting to take banked turns by driving up nearby embankments.

During a left turn taken at excessive speed, he lost control, crossed the roadway, and struck another embankment. The Jeep rolled and came to rest on its driver’s side around 5:10 p.m.

Fiedelman was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected, leaving him pinned beneath the vehicle. He died at the scene. Three passengers—ages 15, 16, and 18—suffered minor to moderate injuries and were taken to a hospital.

According to the report, two passengers tried to lift the Jeep using a log, managing to free one trapped passenger but unable to move the vehicle enough to help Fiedelman. Only the front-seat passenger had been wearing a seatbelt. Crash investigators estimated the Jeep’s speed at 32–37 mph and found no mechanical issues that contributed to the incident.
