Grace Edwards Killed in Tragic Pedestrian Crash on Bellflower Boulevard [Long Beach, CA]

Long Beach, CA (November 12, 2025) — 19-year-old Grace Edwards of Long Beach died days after being struck by a car in a Long Beach parking lot earlier this month, authorities reported.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Nov. 2 in the 2200 block of Bellflower Boulevard. According to investigators, Edwards was walking through a parking lot when a Lexus sedan hit her as it was backing out of a parking space.

Emergency responders found Edwards with serious upper body injuries and rushed her to a hospital in critical condition. She succumbed to her injuries three days later.

Police said the driver, a 39-year-old Long Beach resident, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Detectives believe distracted driving may have contributed to the crash.

The Long Beach Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
