Police Investigate Fatal Crash on State Route 94 in Jamul

JAMUL, CA (November 20, 2025) — A 55-year-old Guillermo Pagan from El Cajon was tragically killed early Thursday morning after a crash on State Route 94 near Hillside Drive.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. in a dimly lit rural area of East County. 

The man was reportedly walking across the eastbound lanes of SR-94 when a 2017 Hyundai Tucson, driven by an unidentified motorist, hit him.

CHP Public Affairs Officer Jasmine Lopez confirmed that the pedestrian died at the scene. 

His identity was released this week, as Guillermo Pagan, 55, of Ek Cajon.

Initial reports indicate that intoxication was not a factor in the crash. 

Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the exact circumstances, including visibility conditions and potential driver or pedestrian factors.
