Harris County Pursuit Crash Results in Injuries [Harris County, TX]

Harris County, TX (July 16, 2026) — On Tuesday, authorities arrested a suspect after a Harris County pursuit involving a stolen Chevrolet Camaro that ended with multiple collisions in Harris County.

According to investigators, Harris County Precinct 1 deputies and Houston police officers chased the driver of the stolen red Camaro for approximately five to 10 minutes. During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly rammed two patrol vehicles and several civilian vehicles while attempting to escape.

Officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the Camaro, but the driver continued fleeing after hitting the police units. The chase came to an end near Veterans Memorial Drive and North Shepherd Drive when law enforcement boxed in the vehicle by striking it from both sides, allowing officers to safely take the suspect into custody.

A Harris County Precinct 1 deputy sustained minor injuries in the incident. Two civilians also suffered injuries and are expected to recover.

Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity. Investigators expect to file multiple felony charges. The Houston Police Department’s Auto Theft Division is leading the ongoing investigation.
